Hanny van Roekel Prize
For several years a legacy left to the Foundation by Hanny van Roekel was used as a prize for academic papers submitted by tertiary students. It was not awarded every year and has now been withdrawn due to insufficient applications.
2004 winner
Julia de Bres, for her paper entitled Intergenerational attitudes towards Dutch language maintenance across three periods of arrival in New Zealand.
2006 winner
Ineke Crezee, for her paper entitled I understand well but cannot say it proper back - Language Use Amongst older Dutch Immigrants in New Zealand.
2008 winner
Carine Poot, for her paper entitled Using social networking tools to support the Dutch Culture in New Zealand.

Dutch Migrant Study
Barte Pegge conducted a research paper which addressed Dutch Migrant Research entitled The Invisible Dutch, a Pilot Study Evaluating Dutch Migrants' Path to New Zealand from 1996 to 2006.
