André van Duin, one of Netherlands’ prominent comedians, has written a cheeky alternative to “Het Wilhelmus”, that, he says, is now going to become redundant once Prince Willem Alexander takes over as King from his mother, Queen Beatrix. It is really quite funny. Click here.
This Dahlia Festival, held every September, rivals the Rose Parade in the USA for its spectacular use of fresh flowers to create a floral parade. However, they limit themselves to Dahlias, so their ingenuity (not to mention the engineering) fof their creations is spectacular. Dahlias on Parade
