The Dutch in NZ
The online Encyclopaedia of New Zealand (Te Ara) provides a very good resource, covering the migration of the Dutch to New Zealand, from early settlers through to the influx in the 1950s.
The Foundation has also produced a book, Tasman's Legacy, written by Hank Schouten. After twenty years and two printings it is now out of print, so we have made it available on the website as PDFs - which you can download as separate chapters or in total as a single PDF. We're planning to update the later sections of the book - with additional information being made available on the website.

What is the Dutch Culture in New Zealand? Is there one? Can there be one? Pockets of cultural activities occur throughout New Zealand, providing opportunities for local communities to celebrate the Dutch. Whether it's a Koninginnedag get together or a Tulip Festival in spring, someone, somewhere will be doing something. Between our Facebook Page and this website, the Foundation links interested parties to these events. Read more about Dutch heritage in New Zealand
