video (in Dutch)
This documentary was made by Johannes Oppewal of MotionMinds.nl, who interviewed Dutch immigrants living overseas, including some living in New Zealand.
This documentary interviews people in Australia, NZ, USA, Canada and Hawaii. A number of Dutch immigrants are interviewed in New Zealand: the people who run Dutch Delight in Birkenhead; Anatoki Salmon in Golden Bay, and Guido & Elise, dairy farmers in Southland. They tell about their experiences of settling in, and any regrets they may have had. Most have none.
The documentary concludes with a discussion about "How do you remain connected with the Netherlands"? Our DutchKiwis talk about the Dutch things they like to have, or do, or drink (coffee!), or celebrate - like Koninginnedag and birthdays.
